About Lecture

Prof Dorst will start by giving anintroduction on 55 years of studying/thinking about design. He will then move on to discuss of the current state of the design and design research, focusing on their strengths but also the huge challenges facing the field and consider the response, explaining the future directions in design and design research as they are now beginning to become clear. Key to these new developments is a fundamental shift in the role of the design in practice, and the development of a new form of ' Academic Design' that intimately links research and design practice.
