I have always enjoyed sports and working out is a large part of playing sports. No matter what sport you play, physical conditioning plays a large part in being good at you’re your chosen sport.  I am always looking for new things to add to my workouts(健身;锻炼). 

After researching Mike Mahler's training philosophy and seeing his attitude to life, I decide to add parts of his workout to mine. One of them was Russian kettlebells. I even have some here in China.

Mike Mahler wrote a book and I contacted him to see if he could do a short interview for our readers. He graciously agreed, I hope you enjoy.


Mr Jackson: As a vegan can you give us an example of what you eat during a typical day?

Mike MahlerI like to have a protein shake for breakfast loaded with pea protein, rice protein, juiced beets, cucumber, celery, and kale. Then I add frozen acai, BCAA, ginger, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Finally I add Udo's oil for EFA and cacao for a good source of mineral and saturated fat which is important for optimal hormone levels.
我早饭喜欢喝蛋白质奶昔,它包含豆类蛋白、大米蛋白、果汁甜菜、黄瓜、芹菜和甘蓝。然后我再往里面加点冷冻的阿萨伊浆果、支链氨基酸、生姜、肉豆蔻和肉桂。最后,我再加一些Udo油补充必要脂肪酸、可可来补充矿物质和对维持荷尔蒙平衡有益的饱和脂肪。
For lunch I have a large mixed green salad with hummus, hempseeds, carrots, and olive oil

 午餐的时候,我会吃一大份绿色沙拉,混合了鹰嘴豆沙、大麻籽、胡萝卜和橄榄油。

Post workout I have a shake similar to breakfast.  
锻炼之后,我通常喝跟早餐类似的奶昔。
Dinner is usually 2 cups of legumes such as black beans or chick peas mixed with nuts and seeds for a complete protein. I load up on a lot of veggies such as mushrooms, orange bell pepper, spinach, celery etc. Dinner is cooked in 1-2 tablespoons of coconut oil.
晚餐的时候,我通常喝两杯豆荚汁,比如黑豆或鹰嘴豆混合坚果类来全面补充蛋白质。我平时会吃很多蘑菇、橙甜椒、菠菜、芹菜等。晚餐一般用一到两餐勺椰子油。
If I am still hungry I snack on homemade protein bars or nuts and seeds with goji berries.
如果还饿的话,我会把自制蛋白棒或坚果、果仁加枸杞当零食。


 Mr Jackson: Can you tell us a little about your book, and what exactly it means to "Live life Aggressively"?

您能给我们介绍一下您的书么?具体是什么含义呢?

Mike Mahler It is an anti self-help book that tells people what they need to do to take charge of their lives. It is all about taking the time to do self inventory and then deciding exactly what one wants and accepting the sacrifices that are required to achieve goals.

这本书旨在告诉人们需要对自己的人生负责。全书讨论的是要花时间做好自我积累,准确定位自己的需求,接受达到目标所需要付出的代价。

Mr Jackson: Finally any parting advise for our readers would be appreciated (my audience is mostly teachers, and students from middle school to university).

您在节目最后能不能给读者们一些建议?我们的读者大多是老师和中学生、大学生。

 Mike Mahler:Don't let anyone else tell you what to do with your life or what you are capable of. Decide exactly what is important to you and have the courage to make the necessary sacrifices to make it happen.

在我们的生活中,不要等着别人告诉我们要做什么、能做什么。对于那些对自己重要的事情要敢于自己做决定,并做出必要的付出去实现它。
